Star Trek Movie
Right, so I know some of you guys have seen it... Is it worth a watch? I have the chance to go see it, but have never really liked the tv shows, so wondered if this is anything like the shows???
Also, if there are lots of unnecessary explosions then these will be taken into consideration, assuming they dont omit sound effects to be clever since theyre in space

Re: Star Trek Movie
Thank god I got here before Dale.
The series' are terrible, yes. But the film stands completely apart. You miss nothing by not knowing the background. Lots of explosions but none unnecessary - no sound omissions, they'll pull your spleen out. Film is good on many levels. It's Fast, it's funny, it's the very definition of epic and it has Sylar. Go see it.

Just for the record, I would have said more or less exactly what you just said? Just because I like the programs doesn't mean that I think you must watch them before seeing this. (As a matter of fact I think the original series is pretty crap)
Re: Star Trek Movie
"no sound emissions" ... Wha-?! So there are silent explosions... Well that sucks
Wait, do you maybe mean omissions? (if thats how its spelt?)
Im told there is also lots of pointless fighting, sounds good to me
